Cybersoft delivers Court Case Management System

Cybersoft signed the contract for the development of a computerized database system for the management of court cases on July 5, 2003. The project was part of the Justice Reform Program of the Ethiopian Government that was launched by the Ministry of Capacity Building. The project ownership was subsequently transferred to the Federal Supreme Court.

Cybersoft undertook to complete the requirement analysis, design, development and implementation work within six months. It then organized a selected team of about eight members of its highly qualified staff to undertake the project. Most of the team members were highly qualified software engineers. The project manager, Mr. Tadesse Debella, also the Acting Director Operations, had a distinct track record of successfully developed software projects. He was assisted by Mr. Dagim Tilahun, another senior software engineer. Mr. Debella led the strong team that meticulously followed his direction in fully implementing the project within the allotted time. Most work products were completed by end November 2003 and by December 31, 2003, about a week before the agreed completion time; the entire system development work was successfully completed and demonstrated to the Client.

The Court Case Management System (CCMS), a highly successful multi –lingual product now works in four different Ethiopian languages; i.e. Amharic, Oromifa, Tigrigna and Somali. It is already deployed in the Oromia Supreme Court and Addis Ababa Municipal Courts. Supreme Court personnel from almost all regions of Ethiopia are currently taking user training on the operation of CCMS at Cyber Building, Bole Sub-City, Addis Ababa since February 9, 2004. The trainees like the high quality software and find it to be “user friendly, robust, and reliable with appropriate security features.” They add “it will facilitate their work immensely”.

CCMS is developed for the .Net Framework and implemented using Visual Studio .Net development tools and the C# language. It works on a distributed client server environment. It is multi-lingual, supporting four national languages and the English language, with integrated keyboard input, CyberGeez, for the languages with Ethiopic alphabet.

CCMS is a good example of Cybersoft’s use of advanced technology and project management for delivering ICT solutions to its highly valued clients.
