Cybersoft has started the Autopsy System
Delighted by the successful implementation of the CCMS, Cybersoft was also given a supplementary contract that is also a component of the Justice System Reform Program, by the Ministry of Capacity Building. This comprises the study of the requirements as well as the development and implementation of an Autopsy System that can appropriately interface with the CCMS. The contract was signed on February 11, 2004. The system will deliver a national autopsy database providing criminal related information and vital evidence. Its will provide Forensic pathology Services to all stakeholders including the Prosecutors Office of the Judiciary, the Courts in Ethiopia, the Criminal Investigation Service of the Police Force, the family or relations of a deceased, as well as to students and researchers. The project comprises the establishment of a robust autopsy database that would be available “anytime and all the time” and that could eventually evolve to provide an on line information service to authorized clients. It aims to facilitate the internal autopsy and pathology operations while at the same time providing improved public service delivery. In other words it will, internally, automate the activities of the Autopsy and Pathology Sections of Menelik II Hospital, in Addis Ababa, and provide, externally, vital information and evidence services to all stakeholders. Cybersoft will develop the system for the .Net Framework using Visual Studio .Net development tools and implement it on a distributed client server environment. The system will work in both Amharic and English languages using CyberGeez features. The agreed project completion time is six months. However, as usual, Cybersoft plans to complete it earlier, say within about three to four months, by deploying a larger number of its highly qualified software engineers and advanced project management techniques.
